With Humility And Affection

First of all I offer my millions of daa?i??a??avat praa?i??A?ma at theAi??lotus feet of my spiritual guru, nitya-lAi??lA? pravia??a?i??a oa?? via??a?i??upA?daAi??AsrAi?? AsrAi??mad Bhakti PrajAi??A?na KeAi??ava GosvA?mAi??. I offer the sameAi??millions of praa?i??A?ma unto the lotus feet of my Ai??ika??A?-guru, nityalAi??lA?Ai??pravia??a?i??a oa?? via??a?i??upA?da AsrAi?? AsrAi??mad BhaktivedA?nta SvA?mAi??Ai??MahA?rA?ja.

Today I am especially remembering my Ai??ika??A?-guru, AsrAi??Ai??AsrAi??mad BhaktivedA?nta SvA?mAi?? MahA?rA?ja and his first journeyAi??to America by boat. He passed through the MediterraneanAi??Sea, on to the Atlantic Ocean, and finally he arrived in Boston.Ai??On the order of his gurudeva, he carried the message of AsrAi??Ai??Caitanya MahA?prabhu and AsrAi??la RAi??pa GosvA?mAi?? to America.Ai??During his journey across the seas, he performed the humanlikeAi??pastime of becoming so sick that he seemed to be on theAi??verge of death. He had no medicine or doctor at that time; he was completely dependent on Ka?i??a??a?i??a. He showed us by this pastime that despite such great inconvenience, he was determined to go to America and preach.

I think that you have all come to Ka?i??a??a?i??a consciousness only by his mercy. Because of his preaching, people all over the world are chanting and remembering the glories of Ka?i??a??a?i??a, JagannA?tha, Baladeva, and SubhadrA?, and they are hearing the message of AsrAi?? Caitanya MahA?prabhu. Without his efforts to travel and preach around the world, no one outside of India would know of these teachings.

The aim and object of the teachings of AsrAi?? Caitanya MahA?prabhu and AsrAi??la RAi??pa GosvA?mAi?? is to know that Ka?i??a??a?i??a is love and love is Ka?i??a??a?i??a. RA?dhA? and Ka?i??a??a?i??a have combined to become AsacAi??nandana Gaurahari (AsrAi?? Caitanya MahA?prabhu), who exhibits the highest form of mercy. Caitanya MahA?prabhu traveled throughout India, from north to south and east to west, and He preached love and affection wherever He went. This was also the mission of AsrAi?? AsrAi??mad A. C. BhaktivedA?nta SvA?mAi?? MahA?rA?ja and our entire guru-paramparA?.

We want to associate with everyone on the platform of love and affection. Our aim should not be to control others. You cannot bring others to Ka?i??a??a?i??aai??i??s service by manipulating or controlling them. If you cannot control your own mind, how can you control others?

Exhibiting His profuse love and affection, AsrAi?? Caitanya MahA?prabhu caused the wild animals in the jungles of JhA?rikhaa?i??a??a to chant together the Hare Ka?i??a??a?i??a mahA?-mantra in ecstatic love. By His influence, the behavior of these wild animals towards each other was completely transformed. They lived together peacefully and even drank from the same places at the rivers, ponds, and lakes. This was the mercy of AsrAi?? Caitanya MahA?prabhu, who quickly spread divine love and affection throughout this planet and entire universe. The love that He came to experience and distribute is the special prema of AsrAi??matAi?? RA?dhikA?.

If you want to make your life successful, happy, andAi??peaceful,Ai??then try to give all of your love and affection to AsrAi??Ai??Ka?i??a??a?i??a, and like AsrAi?? Caitanya MahA?prabhu, show that love to allAi??living beings. Donai??i??t try to control others by force or subtleAi??manipulation. Try to give your whole being in their service.Ai??One who comes to others with love has nothing to take, butAi??everything to give.

If your aim and object is to preach the pure love andAi??affection of Caitanya MahA?prabhu, then try to give yourselfAi??toAi??others; your whole life dedicated for othersai??i?? welfare. They willAi??reciprocate that love and give their life to serve Ka?i??a??a?i??a. TheyAi??will not do so if you try to control them. Avoid criticizingAi??others; rather, correct your own faults and bad habits.

If you want to show love to others, then do not cause themAi??any pain or suffering, or burden them for your personalAi??happiness
or maintenance. Your first concern is the happinessAi??and satisfaction of others.

We want to be completely selfless in our dealings. WeAi??have the example of the tree that gives its bark, roots, fruits,Ai??leaves, wood, and shade; everything is offered to others withAi??no expectation of remuneration. As human beings, why canai??i??tAi??we be as selfless?

AsrAi?? Caitanya MahA?prabhu has given us this verse:

ta?i??a?i??A?d api sunAi??cena
taror api suhia??a?i??unA?
amA?ninA? mA?nadena
kAi??rtanAi??yaa?? sadA? haria??
Asika??A?a??taka (3)

[Thinking oneself to be even lower and more worthlessAi??than insignificant grass which has been trampledAi??beneath everyoneai??i??s feet, being more tolerant than aAi??tree, being prideless, and offering respect to all othersAi??based upon their respective positions, one should
continuously chant the holy name of AsrAi?? Hari.]

Try to follow this instruction. I want all my sannyA?sAi??s and preachers to understand and follow this verse completely, and to teach others by their personal example. I donai??i??t want them to behave selfishly. They should try to give their hearts to others. I have come to give my heart, not to take anything from you. Donai??i??t think that we need to ask anyone for money.Ai??If we are selflessly preaching the message of AsrAi?? Caitanya MahA?prabhu, He will automatically send money from the sky like a rain shower. We need not worry at all about that.

Please listen very carefully to what I am saying here. Donai??i??t listen and then forget my words. Everyone should write down the instructions herein, and try to follow them.

I desire that you understand the object and mission of AsrAi??la BhaktivedA?nta SvA?mAi?? MahA?rA?ja, AsrAi??la BhaktisiddhA?nta SarasvatAi?? a?i??hA?kura, AsrAi??la RAi??pa GosvA?mAi??, and our entire guruparamparA?, and that you spread it broadly around the world. Begin where AsrAi??la BhaktivedA?nta SvA?mAi?? MahA?rA?ja left off, and continue to preach more and more. Presently, we see that many senior Vaia??a?i??avas and sannyA?sAi??s are falling down, derailed in their devotional service and giving up their sannyA?sa and chanting and remembering. I want our preachers to set a high example of behavior, and to preach the mission of their Gurudeva.

If you wish to be successful in preaching, then give up the desire to praise yourself. Donai??i??t think ai???I am very glorious and talented, I can preach everywhere.ai??? Instead, glorify your dAi??ka??A?-guru and Ai??ika??A?-guru everywhere. By doing so, you will be successful and glory will come into your pocket. I have realized this fact and you should also realize it. By glorifying your guru-paramparA?, everyone will be pleased and praise you. Go on with your preaching, taking care that you donai??i??t seek that praise. Remember that you are a servant of your dAi??ka??A?- and Ai??ika??A?-gurus. Do not be ambitious to create your own disciples; try to bring disciples to the lotus feet of your Gurudeva.

AsrAi?? Caitanya MahA?prabhu never glorified Himself; rather RAi??pa GosvA?mAi?? glorified Him. RAi??pa GosvA?mAi?? never glorified himself, rather, JAi??va GosvA?mAi??, RaghunA?tha dA?sa GosvA?mAi??, Narottama dA?sa a?i??hA?kura, and ViAi??vanA?tha CakravartAi?? a?i??hA?kura wrote about his glories. AsrAi??la Narottama dA?sa a?i??hA?kura has written [in AsrAi?? Prema-bhakti-candrikA? 1.38]:

Ai??rAi??-caitanya-mano-ai???bhAi??a??a?i??aa?? sthA?pitaa?? yena bhAi??taleAi??svayaa?? rAi??paa?? kadA? mahyaa?? dadA?ti sva-padA?ntikam

[When will AsrAi?? RAi??pa GosvA?mAi?? give me the shelter ofAi??his lotus feet? Because he understood the innermostAi??desire of AsrAi?? Caitanya MahA?prabhu, he was able toAi??establish His mission in this world and is very dear toAi??the Lord.]

AsrAi??la Bhaktivinoda a?i??hA?kura never wrote anything aboutAi??himself, but AsrAi??la BhaktisiddhA?nta SarasvatAi?? PrabhupA?daAi??wrote so much about him and AsrAi??la GaurakiAi??ora dA?sa BA?bA?jAi??Ai??MahA?rA?ja. And who wrote the glories of our AsrAi??la PrabhupA?da,Ai??BhaktisiddhA?nta SarasvatAi?? Ai??ThA?kura? My Gurudeva and otherAi??disciples wrote extensively about him. And I wrote a veryAi??powerful and authoritative book about the life and teachingsAi??of my Gurudeva, AsrAi?? AsrAi??mad Bhakti PrajAi??A?na KeAi??ava GosvA?mAi??.

I have no desire to glorify myself, because I am worthless.Ai??I am nothing more than dried out grass. I can speak, however,Ai??about the mercy of my Gurudeva and my guru-paramparA?. IAi??am not fit or qualified; whatever I have accomplished is theirAi??desire, and they are acting through me. I am like a pen that hasAi??no power to write on its own. Someone must use it. WhateverAi??my Gurudeva, guru-paramparA?, and AsrAi??la BhaktivedA?nta SvA?mAi??Ai??MahA?rA?ja want to write, I am doing that. I have fully realizedAi??that I am insignificant, and that no credit should be givenAi??to me.

Without chanting, remembering, knowing yourself asAi??soul, and knowing the Supersoul and the Supreme Lord AsrAi?? Ka?i??a??a?i??a, you cannot be happy in any way. You may launch sputniks into space or travel to the moon or the sun, but even then you cannot be happy. Whatever you may accomplish in this material world cannot make you happy.

    Dandavat Pranaam,

I receive many emails from Harikatha Team where Narayana Maharaj glorifies everything in a transcendental way that even a lay man can understand Krsna.

As maharaj said that it is surely the blessings of their Divine Grace which is carrying all of us in a safeboat to Goloka.

Brahma Madhva Gaudiya Vaisnava Sampradaya Acarya Vrnda ki Jai..
