By the causeless mercy of Srila Gurudeva and the Vaisnavas, our Jay Shree Damodar Gaudiya Matha preaching team recently completed asix-day college seminar on the Bhagavad-gita from February 9-14, 2015 at the prestigious engineering college in Bhubaneswar called Gandhi Institute for Technology (GIFT). The campus is located on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar city close to the main highway. The seminar was named a?Journey of the Soula?.

Every day, the field that seated 250 people was completely packed with excited participants, who were embarking on their soulas journey in the form of these presentations.

The seminar was very well supported and encourages by the Dean of the College who himself was a follower of the Gaudiya philosophy and encouraged all to attend the seminar as it was for their eternal benefit.

Two brahmacaris from the Puri Matha, Sunder Gopal das and Radha kanta das organized the seminar and were given a room to stay in at the college campus in boys hostel. In the evenings, about 30 students would come to the brahmacarisa room to ask them questions and to hear more about the Gaudiya sampradaya and its philosophy and discussions went till midnight!

On the final day of the seminar, Pujyapad BV Madhava Maharaja and Pujyapad BV Janardhan Maharaja as an honored guests.A Pujyapad Madhava Maharaja shared his wisdom and experience with the students.

The seminar was a great success and power point presentation were used with six topics for six days. Topics were- Does God Exist (scientifically proving the existence of God and the authenticity of the Vedas)? Who Am I? One God or many Godas? Karma, Prakriti and Time. Bhakti Yoga and Practical application. The philosophy of Caitanya Mahaprabhu and the guru parampara was also explained during the six days.

To those students who were especially active in their participation of the seminar, they were awarded a participation certificate as well as a free a?Science of Self Realisationa and a?Caitanya Piyush (Some pastimes of Caitanya Mahaprabhu)a?. There was also a book table during the seminar, where the students were offered a special 40% discount. Many students signed up for the Harikatha mailing list and the brahmacaris are still trying to stay in touch with them via SMS messages.

Every Saturday the college students host a music party at the campus. This coincided with the last day of the seminar and the devotees were allowed to do sankirtana festival. More than 400 students joined in sankirtana and including mrdanga and karatalas, tabla and other instruments including woofers and the DJ system. The matha brahmacaris called on all the audience to participate and it was really wonderful.

The seminar and sankirtana was such a success that every Saturday evening a group of students are doing an hour of kirtana and an hour of harikatha, discussing from Srila Gurudevaas books or listening to harikatha from brahmacaris on the phone. They started a facebook group and participating in the Pure Bhakti Youth forum.

Six day seminars at additional two colleges have already been organised in Bhubaneswar from mid-March to the end of March.
