Aspiring for the mercy of Sri Guru and Vaishnavas, here is a report of the preaching activities in Houston Texas. Unlike most people may think, there are not a lot of cowboys riding around on horses or rodeos. The cowboys are found mostly behind the wheels of SUVs that race around Houston's massive mass transit system.

One quality which is noticeably present here in Houston is southern hospitality. The brahmacari ashram is situated in a predominatly Spanish speaking neighborhood which is friendly and similar in community feel as India. In addition to book distribution and nagar sankirtana in the local area, the devotees do a weekly Spanish nama-hatta program in the home of Srila Gurudeva's disciples as well as a prasadam distribution program in the local neighborhood with sankirtana on Fridays.

One very nice experience we had in Jaipur was this: One day we met a man whose name was Devasish while we were going to Govindaji Mandir by bus. He saw us carrying our books and book table and asked us if we needed any help. We were struggling a little with the book table so he carried that for us. Then we talked to him for a while when we got to Govindaji Mandir and he ended up selling books with us on our book table that evening – which was a big help as he spoke hindi. He also helped us again carry our things back to the place we were staying. Then the next evening he was inspired to come back and help again! He enthusiastically sold many of Gurudeva's books and was happily preaching to people as well. He came at least 3 or 4 nights and helped in this way. Then he very enthusiastically participated in our programme on the last night, and said he really wants to keep in touch with all of us and come to Vrndavana to meet Gurudeva.

Our preaching week in Jaipura, from March 1-6, 2008, was a very sweet and interesting experience. Four ladies went: Caru Chandrika dasi, Bakula dasi and Yasoda dasi and I. We distributed Gurudeva's books in front of the Govindaji Mandir every evening. Many people came and bought books and asked many questions, which we were of course very happy to answer.
