Body, Mind, and Spirit Expo in North Carolina

There are many New Age and Yoga events held around the US every year. One such event is the Body, Mind, Spirit Expo (BMSE) which hosts all sorts of metaphysical healers and related products etc.  Many pseudo spiritual groups are also present with booths.

On the weekend of August  27-28th during the precise impact of Hurricane Irene upon the coast of North Carolina a grhasta couple desiring to serve their beloved Srila Gurudeva decided to continue with their commitment to present books through their ‘Bhakti Palace’ booth by braving the storm and driving from Florida to Raleigh, N.C. the day of contact!  (Raleigh turned out to be enough inland (mid-state) that the indoor event went on with simply a lower attendance than normal.)

Even though there is some considerable expense, the presence of devotees at such events, informs the public of our compassionate and profound philosophy. Many other vendors appreciated our presence as people can experience the authenticity of our literature etc. I believe we have outgrown the old paradigm of being the ‘cult religion.’

One of our personal goals is to expose the complete ‘Srimad-Bhagavatam’ with a nice display as the ‘Source of All Metaphysical Wisdom’ and the ‘New Encyclopaedia’ of spiritual knowledge.

We also had Tulasi present for people to water and Syamarani didis art posters available. There is also a 40 min. lecture spot for each booth holder.

We carried a variety of Srila Gurudeva’s books as well as Srila Prabhupadas. Many interested persons bought books and we advertised Bhaktibooks.com along with their catalog.

Los Angeles will have a very large ‘Conscious Life Expo’ this Feb. if west coast devotees can participate.

All glories to Sri Sri Guru and Gauranga!
Praying for the mercy of the Vaisnavas, Rama dd. & Baladeva Das

PS from Rama:

I really did not want to attend the Expo because I do not feel qualified to speak and secretly had been desiring to hide from the world; plus  a hurricane was on its way to NC. Still Bala was really motivated and excited with strong faith that Gurudeva would protect us, thus I decided that it was not about me. Its about sharing Srila Gurudeva’s Glories to the world; sharing his precious gems in the form of books. Deep down inside I knew that Srila Gurudeva and Srila Prabhupada would be so please to see all their transcendental books available for the public. This really motivated me to push pass any doubts and increase my faith. This was my test.

During the event I prayed for Srila Gurudeva’s guidance and felt inspired to speak to a couple of ladies who were really interested in learning about our different books. As I spoke, I realized that I was totally immersed in sharing Srila Gurudeva’s Glories that I could feel his presence with us. Book distribution is the most exciting and social way of reaching out and staying always in touch with Srila Gurudeva
