Awakening Yoga Festival

This past weekend, we had a booth at the Awakening Yoga Festival in St Pete’s, Florida. St Pete’s is such a beautiful touristy town on the Bay, and the festival was at a park downtown, right near the Marina. The festival organizers are very kind, and gave a free spot as they like our Prison Program.

Champakalata made vegan chocolate chip cookies and juice for the booth which was wonderful to have. Many nice people stopped by, some had heard of Krsna and others hadn’t and a lot of books and art was distributed. It is always fun to see people who have neer heard of Krsna, spontaneously react to the beauty of the paintings.

A few people we met last year and at other festivals also came by the booth and were happy to see us again, and had got more books from us, or said they had only read a bit of what they received prior (usually Bhagavad-gita) and seeing us reminded them that they want to read more.

We had a few garlands from the Deities at the Alachua temple with us and Trilokanath prabhu gave them out. Each person who received one was overjoyed!

So much thanks to the sponsors to the GVP Sponsorship program which enables us to be present at these festivals without anxiety.
