Santa Joins the Hare Krsna’s

During this latest Christmas season in Murwillumbah, Australia, NSW, a small town which is high on the Vaisnava calendar, it was observed that Santa Clause who usually participates in massive gift-giving at that time of year, decided instead to join the Hare Krsna movement. Santa said that after giving so many gifts to so many people, he felt it was being under-appreciated and decided to give them something of real value instead – transcendental books, nicely gift-wrapped which are written by Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayana Gosvami Maharaja. Santa thought, “These gifts will really do people some tremendous good. They will definitely appreciate them.”

It all started one day.. he was on the main street of that small town, distributing gifts when he heard the sound of the transcendental party coming down the street. Soon the infectious beat of the kartalas and mrdanga entered his ears and the mercy of Nityananda Prabhu flooded his heart.  Waves of ecstasy poured thru his fat Santa body. He knew there and then that he would dedicate the rest of his Santa time to propagating the holy names of Sri Krsna in the sankirtana movement of Caitanya Mahaprabhu.
