Restaurant Distribution
Here at Rutgers University, one of the mottos of student life is to “get involved.” Home to about 40,000 students, one can only imagine the ocean of opportunities that await them. However, even with this vast number of opportunities that enable leadership, responsibility, growth, etc, I was thrilled to be contacted by my dear godsister with a chance to serve Srila Gurudeva and the Lord. This, to me, was more than just getting involved; it was nourishment for my small seed of bhakti; it was a chance to grow.
When I received the books, I began contacting community centers, restaurants, and shelters through email. I explained that I had brand new books on spirituality that were small, thin, and easy to take on the go. The content of each book was very deep in spiritual knowledge that benefits those with an inquisitive mind. A few places responded that they were not ready for the books yet because of construction and renovations. Then I received an email from a restaurant nearby named Chand Palace that was happy to take the books. It was quite close to my college and 100% vegetarian, more incentive to take them there. At the restaurant, I met the manager, Sunil Sethi, and asked where I could put the books. One of his options was the front desk, but there were some decorative items and pamphlets there. He graciously moved them to keep the books there.
Since this was my first time putting Srila Gurudeva’s books in a restaurant, I decided to put about eight of each book. I felt it was not too much or too little, but just enough. The next day at around 2pm, I received a phone call from Mr. Sethi. He told me that all the books, except for three, had been taken and asked for more, which I was happy to provide. Srila Gurudeva is truly so merciful.

Thanks to the GVP sponsorship program that these books are able to be put freely in restaurants. Through your generous pledge to the program, Srila Gurudeva’s books will continue to be printed for distribution to fortunate souls throughout the world.
