Seattle Preaching

I am now staying in Seattle, Washington. I recently moved from Orcas island,
so I could have some association of devotees. I have met up with some
devotees here that have been doing harinama sankirtan every Saturday
in downtown Seattle for about a year or more now. The devotee who does
it every Saturday, (Bhakta Bryant), has not taken any imitation but is
very dedicated to the mission of Lord Caitanya.  I feel very fortunate
to have his association. I do my best to join them when my health
allows, and it is always a wonderfully blissful experience. He has a blog
of the Weekly harnama which you can see here. (http://harinamseattle.blogspot.com/ )

The Harinama is very nice. There is a book table with a big picture of the Pancha-tattva and the Maha-mantra. People come by and listen, dance, look at books, take books, and  give donations. Bhakta Bryant distributes Srila Swami Maharaja Prabhupada’s books, and I distribute Srila Gurudevas books. Also I have made some flyers and will be going door to door with books as Srila Gurudeva has asked us  to do. Thanks to the GVP book sponsorship program, I am able to move around Seattle to go door-to-door and to they supplement the cost of the books so more can be distributed at any cost.

“Do as I am doing. Follow me, and all those who are preaching on my
behalf. Perform nagara-sankirtana (chanting in the streets, parks, and
other public venues), give classes like the classes we are conducting
here, go on book distribution, go from door-to-door and tell
harikatha. This is the process.” (Verbania, Italy – June, 2008)
-Srila Gurudeva

I hope that I can do some kind of preaching that will please Hari, Guru,
and the Vaisnavas. I hope to report again soon with more news of the
successful preaching here in Seattle and beyond. Jaya Sacinanda Gaurahari!
Aspiring for the service of Sri Hari, Guru, and the Vaisnavas,
Janardan das

PS. I also took my father and grandmother to the ISKCON temple and they
really enjoyed seeing the beautiful Deities of the Lord and looking at
Sria Prabhupada’s books.
