*Singing and dancing book racks*
Valentines day was coming up and we thought it would be a fun idea to give
“The Way of Love” book for free whilst on Harinama. We asked Vasanti didi if
that would be ok and she said sure. It was Ekadasi also. We went to
Hackney, a notoriously heavy suburb of central London, and had a really
lovely time.. It was sooooo easy to distribute the books for free. It was
fun for us and kind of naughty not getting a donation, as our centres are
generally run on book distribution. We had a great response from the
people we met. The nice thing was we could connect with people and explain
something about the book and why it was free. Jagatam didi a disciple of
Srila Bhaktivedanta Swami Maharaja said, “This is so exciting. What a
fantastic idea.” The energy on harinama is so ecstatic with the devotees
singing and dancing that people are automatically attracted wanting to know
what it’s all about. When we gave the books and spoke to them they were very
appreciative and happy. We easily distributed over 100 books in less than an
hour. We had another harinama that Saturday in central London (our regular
monthly harinama) We decided to distribute books again along with flyers and
prasadam. This was fun too because it was so nice to see brand new devotees
from our temple enthusiastically handing out books and overcoming their
shyness to approach people. It was another great harinama with over 200 books
and loads of heart shaped biscuits distributed. We will continue to do this
on harinamas every month.
